EVENT DATE: OCT 21, 2017
The Fifth Annual Driving "Fore" A Cure For PH golf tournament will be held on October 21, 2017 at Riverwood Golf Course in Clayton, NC to raise funds and awareness to support PH research and to help find a cure. Our goal this year is to raise over $50,000 for research. 100% of the proceeds will go to the Robyn Barst Pediatric PH Research and Mentoring Fund to help find a cure for this disease and help provide hope for children with PH. There will be great food, gifts, silent auction, and of course a great day of golf.
The inspiration for this golf tournament is our 6 year old son Jackson, who was diagnosed in August of 2012 with Pulmonary Hypertension (PH). PH is a chronic, incurable, life threatening and progressive lung disease that creates narrowing of the blood vessels in the lungs which causes additional strain on the right side of the heart. If left untreated, PH can lead to failure of the right side of the heart. The good news is that we fortunately caught the disease early enough where treatment is still an option. There have been some significant advancements on treatments for PH over the last 10 years, but there is still no cure. Please help us find a cure for Jackson and for all other PHighters by supporting this event!
