THE STORY:

I'm competing in the Monticelloman Olympic Distance Triathlon on May 4th, 2014.  I'm hoping to raise $2,000 for a great charity.  Here's a little about them.

Founded in 1974, Friends of Guest House is a 501(c)(3) charity that helps Northern Virginia women make successful transitions from incarceration back into the community.

They address the root causes of the vicious cycle of crime, and thus they give their clients the most effective help so they do not re-offend. Their program focuses on core issues ranging from trauma and addiction to housing and employment. And their program works:

> Without re-entry support, 70% of ex-offenders nationwide re-offend within two years.
> Among Guest House graduates, just 7% re-offend.

Their Mission: To provide female ex-offenders the structure, supervision, support and assistance they need to become self-sufficient and responsible members of the community.

Their Vision: Rebuilding female ex-offenders' lives by providing them with the physical and emotional tools they need to begin a new life through self-sufficiency.
