A year ago I became aware of the global tragedy of human trafficking when I started working on The Body Shop's campaign to Stop Sex Trafficking of Children and Young People. In the US and Canada, we raised funds for the Somaly Mam foundation, named after a remarkable woman who was herself sold as a sex slave by her grandfather at the age of 12. I'm raising money for the Somaly Mam Foundation which offers support to victims of sex trafficking in Cambodia.
I plan on raising at least $5,500 and will head to Cambodia to spend International Women's Day and witness first hand the amazing work of Somaly Mam and AFESIP in shelters to support victims of human trafficking.
PROJECT FUTURES global and RAW Travel have created the trip to raise money for the Somaly Mam Foundation, dedicated to the eradication of sex trafficking and modern-day slavery in Southeast Asia and worldwide and the empowerment of its survivors.
Please join me to help raise funds to create a world where women and children are safe from slavery.
