EVENT: Boston Marathon 2014
EVENT DATE: Apr 21, 2014
Hello everyone! #Miles4Smiles! That's the Team Forsyth motto and what better way for me to keep a smile on my face while pushing through that 26.2 than to know I'm helping put a smile on a kid. YOU can help me do that by donating to the Forsyth Institute.
This will be my fourth Boston Marathon, and an incredibly special race. Last year, I was around mile 24 when the bombs went off at the finish line, and the panic of the unknown and slowly realizing what happened to our beloved marathon was unreal.
Since April, I have followed the recovery of many of the survivors as a journalist and have watched as they relearned how to walk, hold hands, and even run again. It's time to finish the race for them, and finish with a cause.
For more than 100 years, Forsyth has put smiles on faces by providing dental care to inner city kids. Not only do they help with dental care, but they're a leader in oral health research. They've discovered surprising links between oral conditions and health threats like heart disease, diabetes, and even certain cancers and infectious diseases.
This year, 36,000 runners will make the journey from Hopkinton to Copley Square. Help make 2014 the year of helping the MOST people and donate to the Forsyth Institute.
