What's the CrowdRise Giving Tower?

The CrowdRise Giving Tower is the most engaging, innovative and fun campaign centered around the power of #GivingTuesday. Everything starts a week before #GivingTuesday and then on November 29th, we're going to build a virtual tower called the Giving Tower.

The actual Giving Tower is a tower built in virtual reality that shows the combined philanthropic impact of charities and humans all over the world. Brick by brick the Tower gets built with each brick representing a donation to a cause participating in the Giving Tower.

Beyond being a tool to leverage in order to raise more money for your organization on #GivingTuesday, it's also got a built-in component that makes it extremely engaging for your supporters. By using our free app, your donors can engage with the Tower, watch it grow in real-time, explore the virtual reality landscape, and feel connected to the cause they are supporting as well as the greater impact that #GivingTuesday brings to the charitable world as a whole.

It's pretty impactful, really fun and very effective. We're ready to build it to the moon so get ready for an amazing ride.

To the Moon...

In 2015, the CrowdRise Giving Tower grew taller than the Tokyo Skytree, 2,080 feet in the air. In 2016, we beat that by 2,000+ feet growing it to 4,358 feet tall...taller than the Burj Khalifa in Dubai. In 2017...let's build this thing to the moon.

Win $25,000 on #GivingTuesday

This year, we're giving away $25,000 to the organization that raises the most money on #GivingTuesday, November 29th, between 12:00am ET and 11:59:59pm ET. Pretty amazing.

Official Rules.

The CrowdRise Holiday Charity Challenge

We like to think of the CrowdRise Giving Tower on #GivingTuesday as the kick-off to the Holiday Challenge. By leveraging the Tower, you're able to start talking to your supporters about holiday giving and then by continuing on with the Holiday Challenge, you're able to carry that momentum throughout the holiday season.

The CrowdRise Holiday Charity Challenge is a friendly fundraising competition designed to help organizations gain awareness, recognition, and most importantly, resources. Not only do you compete to win grand prizes but, by reaching out to your supporters and getting exposure from our Challenge partners, you have a real opportunity to raise a lot of money this holiday season.

Challenge Details

The Challenge runs from Tuesday, November 22nd at 12:00pm ET through Thursday, January 5th at 1:59:59pm ET. The top organizations that raise the most money get cash grants.

• 1st place gets $100,000
• 2nd place gets $50,000
• 3rd place gets $25,000
• 4th place gets $10,000
• 5th place gets $5,000

There will also be weekly Bonus Challenges as extra opportunities for organizations to win more cash. Bonus Challenges are weekly contests designed to keep momentum high and raise way more money for your cause plus, they're really fun.

The Best Part of the Challenge is that even if you don't win one of the grand prizes, you get to keep the money you raise during the campaign. So, so great. The Best Part of the Challenge is that even if you don't win any of the prize money you get to keep the money you raise during the campaign. So, so great. We said that twice on purpose.

How This Thing All Works...

When you set up a campaign within the Giving Tower platform, you immediately have access to all the tools, functionality and innovation that we've created to go along with the CrowdRise Giving Tower. Now here's where you come in...you've gotta make your page look amazing and read like the most compelling novel known to mankind. This is the page your supporters will go to donate to your cause. Make it so good that they can't leave without pressing that Donate button.

Now...the other part is getting 'em to that page. The CrowdRise Giving Tower and Holiday Challenge are all about COMMUNICATION. The best part is, it's so cool to talk about. So we've got that part down. But now you have to talk about it until the very minute it's over. And, to help, this Toolkit is chock-full of sample drafts, social posts, calendar, press info, etc to help you talk every step of the way. Sorry for saying chock-full.

The Calendar of All Calendars

Back to that communication thing... Here's a calendar that you can use to help make planning your Giving Tower campaign beyond easy. Make sure you're signed up for all the webinars, know all the key dates and are ready to go way in advance of November 22nd.

10/6 - Is your staff up to speed on the Giving Tower campaign? Have they read through this toolkit and bookmarked it as well? When your staff is engaged and has fundraisers, it's a real game-changer. Get 'em on board early. Check the Email Drafts section for help.

10/11 - Reach out to your board and let them know you're involved in the CrowdRise Giving Tower. It's key to get them involved early, have them set up fundraisers, make it known you're looking for big donations as well as lots of support from their networks. Check out the Email Drafts section of the Toolkit for some drafts to help.

10/18 - We're hosting a webinar today at 3pm ET. We highly encourage you and as many people on your team as possible to attend. Please Go Here to register. It'll take less than a minute. UPDATE: Go Here for the webinar deck and Go Here for the webinar recording.

10/25 - Are you ready to go with a solid list of every supporter, family member, babysitter, mail-person and teacher you've ever encountered? When it comes time to rally, you need to be ready so make sure you've got people following you on social and an email list ready to go.

10/27 - We're hosting a second webinar today at 3pm ET. Again, every webinar we provide will be super informative. Try your hardest to attend and encourage your staff to do so as well. To register, please Go Here. UPDATE: Go Here for the webinar deck and Go Here for the webinar recording.

11/1 - Make sure your page is so compelling that everyone who lands on it feels the need to give. Get lots of pictures up there, a great story and definitely a video if you have it.

11/8 - If you haven't already, reach out to your board and staff individually and let 'em know about your involvement in the Tower. Let them know it all begins on November 22nd at 12pm ET and ask them to become fundraisers for your campaign. A $25 donor is great but a $250 fundraiser is a game changer. Check out the Email Drafts section for a sample drafts you can use.

11/15 - With two weeks left to go before the Giving Tower goes live, start getting ready to hit up your local media with our provided press release. We've seen amazing results from organizations who've hit the pavement getting local media and organizations involved in their fundraiser. Check out the Press Tips section of this Toolkit for everything you need to get started.

11/17 - The CrowdRise Giving Tower goes live in just one week. Now is a good time to reach out individually to every member of your board to make sure they've set up a fundraiser for your cause. They have amazing networks and their help will be huge for your campaign.

11/21 - Make sure to reach out to all of your fundraisers and thank them for getting involved. We've got a draft you can use in our Email Drafts section that you can use to help get 'em ready to go on #GivingTuesday.

11/22 - The CrowdRise Giving Tower starts today at 12pm ET. That means that the Donate button is live on your page. We wanted to give you a good week leading up to #GivingTuesday to download the app and get your supporters hyped up. So, while you can start getting donations today and encourage app downloads, the $25,000 contest doesn't start until #GivingTuesday, November 29th at 12am ET.

11/22 - Big day. Not only does the Challenge start today but so does Bonus Challenge #1. Please Go Here to find out more.

11/24 - Happiest Thanksgiving

11/28 - Tomorrow is #GivingTuesday....the single biggest giving day of the year. Remember, there's a huge cash prize at stake worth $25k. So, make sure you've got your fundraisers ready to go and an email planned to send to your list. Check the Email Drafts section for some samples.

11/29 - It's finally here. #GivingTuesday. The Giving Tower is going to grow so tall as the day goes on. Make sure you're being relentless and talking about the Tower to every single person you know. And, don't forget, the charity that raises the most today between 12am ET and 11:59:59pm ET will win a $25,000 cash donation.

11/30 - #GivingTuesday is officially over but the CrowdRise Holiday Charity Challenge is just beginning. Stay with us and continue rallying your supporters. The Challenge goes through January 5th and there are so many opportunities to win Bonus Challenges and Grand Prizes along the way. In addition, Bonus Challenge #3 starts today. To find out more about this Bonus Challenge please Go Here.

12/1 - Reach out to your supporters and give them an update about how they impacted your #GivingTuesday. The more communication you have with your supporters, the more likely they are to give repeatedly. Let 'em know you're continuing on in the Holiday Challenge and that their support is going to be crucial to raising so much money for your cause. You can use email, post on social and/or use our super easy update tool. Please go to the Holiday Challenge FAQ section of this toolkit to find out more on why and how to use it.

12/6 - Bonus Challenge #4 starts today. Bonus Challenges are designed to help organizations of all sizes raise and win more money. To find out more, please Go Here.

12/8 - Send an email to your entire list thanking them for all of their donations and support. No need to ask them to give in this email blast. Good just to email about how winning the Challenge can impact your organization and how you really appreciate everything your supporters are doing.

12/13 - It's time for Bonus Challenge #5 and this time, there will be five winners. To learn everything please Go Here.

12/15 - Email your board again and let them know there is still an opportunity to fundraise or give. Every donation counts and tapping into their networks is so, so important.

12/20 - Bonus Challenge #6 starts today at 2pm ET and 6 organizations have the chance to win $1,000. To learn more, please Go Here.

12/22 - Encourage everyone to donate to your cause in lieu of a holiday present this year. They're probably looking for last minute ideas right now anyway.

12/27 - Bonus Challenge #7 starts today and with 10 more days to go in the Challenge, you should definitely try to get entered for your chance to win. Please Go Here to learn more.

12/29 - Now's a great time to encourage your supporters to get their last minute end-of-year donations. Remind them that the Challenge lasts until January 5th and every donation up until that point means everything to your cause.

12/31 - Last day of the year and last Bonus Challenge. This one will go super fast so make sure you're all ready to go. To learn everything you need to know, please Go Here. And, happiest New Year.

1/2 - Make sure you're super aware of the Challenge Rules. There are some pretty specific restrictions so make sure to read them all really, really well. There would be nothing worse than a charity thinking they're a grand prize winner only to find out they didn't qualify for one reason or another.

1/4 - Reach out to your supporters and fundraisers and remind them that the Challenge is over tomorrow, January 5th at 1:59:59pm ET. Every donation counts until the Challenge is over so definitely ask everyone to please help in every way possible.

1/5 - The Challenge ends today at 1:59:59pm ET. On this day, definitely encourage your supporters to donate to your cause in the last few hours of the Challenge but also make sure they don't donate at the last minute. It takes time to process donations so it's not good enough to press the donate button at the last minute. You need to have the transaction processed and completed before the end of the Challenge.

1/6 - Use the Update Tool to give a recap of your Challenge campaign. It'll automatically hit all of your donors with the details and keep them excited about your cause. Also email and post on social media. Keeping your donors feeling appreciated is key for long-term support.

CrowdRise Giving Tower Social Media Posts

We've got a whole mess of sample tweets and Facebook posts for you so you can maximize your time during the Giving Tower and the CrowdRise Holiday Charity Challenge and focus on what really matters...raising so much money for your cause. Check 'em all out and get 'em ready to go before and during #GivingTuesday.

FIRST...A QUICK GUIDE TO SOCIAL MEDIA ETIQUETTE

The hashtag. The cute little slanted tic-tac-toe grid is an essential social media tool — but it must be used wisely. At best, it connects your message to others similar in theme or content, allowing readers to easily access related posts. At worst, it strings together unrelated nonsense, leaving people more confused than when they started.

#GIVINGTOWER is the official hashtag of the Giving Tower on #GivingTuesday portion of the campaign.

TWITTER

• Hashtags were invented for Twitter and remain the site’s chief organizing principle. If you want to trend, use hashtags. Tweets with hashtags get twice the engagement of those without.

FACEBOOK:

• Avoid using hashtags on Facebook. We’ve found that posts without hashtags on Facebook see more engagement.

INSTAGRAM:

• Hashtags on Instagram work. Sometimes it’s the posts with the more hashtags that see the most engagement. So, use the official hashtag but you can also use hashtags specific to your cause in addition to #DecentHumans and #CrowdRiseHolidayCharityChallenge

TOP NON-PROFIT HASHTAGS TO INCLUDE IN YOUR POSTS:

•A good rule of thumb for hashtags is to make them simple and very relevant to your cause. For example, the best hashtag for autism is #autism.

SOCIAL SCHEDULING: BEST TIMES TO POST TO SOCIAL MEDIA

• Facebook: The end of the week is usually the best tie to post on Facebook so maybe post an extra couple on Thursday and Friday. However, still post daily to keep the momentum high and the campaign visible.

• Twitter: Posting mid-day for the best click through on Twitter but the early evening is best for retweet rates.

• Pinterest: Best times for Pinterest are in the evenings anytime after 7 or 8pm

• Instagram: The best time to post on Instagram is around lunchtime and also after work and into the evening.

OUR BEST TIPS

Tip: Your Fundraising Page
The more compelling your page is, the more likely people will stick around to learn about your organization

Tell your story.
Add a logo, lots of great photos, and a video if at all possible. Some great examples can be seen Here, Here, and Here.
It's fair to say that small donors want to buy something that they can tell their friends about instead of just giving to operational funds. If you can make your fundraiser tangible by suggesting donation amounts to your supporters that will lead to real life results, that's even better. "$20 will provide holiday meals to five families' is a good example.
Add some stories of those you’ve helped to show donors the great work they’re supporting.
Add some team members right away and Click Here for some quick instructions to make it happen.
Upload the CrowdRise Widget to your own site on launch day, November 22nd at 12pm ET. To make it happen, just log in to your account and go to your fundraising page. Click on the Edit Fundraiser tab and select My Fundraiser Widget on the right. Copy and paste the code into your website html. If you don't know how to do that, just send the code to your web person and they'll know what to do with it. Or Email Us and we’ll be able to help solve everything.

Tip: Engage With Donors and Fundraisers
Use contests, online tools, email and social media to spark interest and get donations.

Start with supporters, employees, volunteers and your board. Check out the Email Drafts section for sample emails you can send.
Email drives donations way, way, way better then social media, and typically, the more people you can email, the more money you’ll raise for your charity.
If possible, try emailing in batches of 10, instead of 1,000 or even 100. Making everyone feel slightly less anonymous will lead to more engagement.
Use Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat and Instagram to update people about your fundraising campaign but don't rely on it. Email converts 100x better than social media.
Utilize a celebrity (famous or local) to help spread the word about your campaign. Have them post about your fundraiser on their social media and get them to offer an experiential prize as a donation incentive (win a trip to my premiere or hang out with me at XX event). If you have a celebrity connection and need help coming up with ideas that work, Email Us and we will dig right in to help.
Use tools like fundraising widgets and get your fundraiser posted on your site, blog and all over the internet.
Use our super easy Campaign Update Tool. We've found that those organizations that use the tool raise 3x more money and have 4x as many repeat donors. Please Go Here to find out how to use the Campaign Tool Update.
Make your donors and fundraisers feel cool and appreciated. Be so good at thanking them and communicating with them that they're psyched to be a part of your team. The goal is to get everyone to share your message with their own friends and family.
Get people excited about your campaign and turn your donors into fundraisers. A $25 donor is great but a $250 fundraiser is a game changer.
Offer incentives to engage donors and fundraisers and talk about them in emails and on social media. Ex: Donate at least $50 to our cause and we'll send you a [YOUR ORGANIZATION] tee shirt. Email Us and we can help.

Tip: Engage Corporate Partners, Media and Big Donors
Reaching out early to your most valuable supporters will create engagement and momentum leading up to the Challenge.

Reach out to corporate partners to request a fiscal match to help provide more incentive for donors and make your donations go further. If someone is willing to match your dollars raised up to $15,000, you immediately have a message to talk about, urgency to capitalize on and money ready to add to your bottom line.
Encourage corporate partners and local retailers to help your charity reach new donors through messaging, marketing and promotions.
Hit the pavement and ask any local groups and past sponsors to talk about your Challenge in their newsletter or visually in their store-fronts.
Contact local media including newspapers, online publications, radio and TV stations to give them the highlights of the campaign. Check the Press Release tab for more information as well.
Book time with these local media outlets to share your story. Local news loves local stories, use this event as a reason to get in the spotlight and make it turn into donations by mentioning your cause, your mission and your fundraising page. Again, tangible donations work well in these cases so rally your local town to support your organization.
Turn your big donors into fundraisers. After you've enlisted the help of your big donors and sponsors, ask them to also set up a fundraiser for your cause. Their networks are huge and can add immediate reach to your campaign.

Tip: Keep the Energy High
Momentum is so important. Keep pushing right up to the deadline.

Check your fundraising page statistics constantly to understand what's working.

EMAIL DRAFTS

Here are some email drafts to help you maximize your Giving Tower and CrowdRise Holiday Charity Challenge campaigns. Make sure to use the drafts and customize them to make them really relevant to your cause. For example, if you participated in the Giving Tower for the past two years, make sure to add that to the draft and explain the impact. The more you can connect the campaign with your cause, the better communication you'll provide.

PRESS RELEASE AND TIPS

We've got everything you need to target specific media outlets in your area to boost your Giving Tuesday and CrowdRise Holiday Charity Challenge campaign.

How do I get the press release?
It's super easy. Just Go Here and grab the pre-built press release. It has blanks reserved for you to customize the press release to make it fit for your cause.
Who should I target for my press release?
Look for the local media (hometown newspapers, television stations, and local websites) that cover your area, as well as regional outlets (the newspapers, TV channels, and websites that originate in the large metropolitan area closest to you). Share the press release with them and offer a local spokesperson to discuss the importance of the campaign with the reporter or producer.
Once I’ve identified my target media, how do I know who’s the correct person to contact?
You can do a little digging, either online or via phone, to find out the name of the writer/editor/producer who covers the appropriate beat—that could be cause, technology, community events, human-interest or the specific sector your organization operates in or for (or the correct answer could be “all of the above” as long as you aren’t inundating one outlet with outreach).
How much in advance of my event/campaign should I send my pitch?
That will depend on the outlet, but generally local and regional press are considered “short-lead.” You should contact the outlets that you’re interested in once your press release is final and you are ready to go live with the story. We recommend going out as close to the launch of the Challenge as possible to maximize pickup.
How and when should I follow up?
We recommend following up on an email pitch with a call the same day. If you do not get in touch with anyone and do not leave a voicemail, it is appropriate to call the contact back the next day.

DONATION QUESTION DRAFTS

On very rare occasions, organizations encounter questions about fee structures from their donors. We're proud to say that we have the lowest fees in the charitable platform world and by being a part of the CrowdRise Holiday Charity Challenge, your organization has the opportunity to be put on our Tre plan that will guarantee an effective rate of no more than 3%. To learn more about the fee structure, please reference the FAQs section of this Toolkit. However, to be proactive, we also wanted to provide you with two simple drafts on the off chance you get an email from a donor. If you have any questions, need help at all, or just want to chat, please Email Us and we'll get right back to you.

DRAFT FOR DONOR WHO HAS MADE A DONATION AND THEN INQUIRED ABOUT THE FEES THAT THEY COVERED

[NAME],

Thank you so much for your donation to [ORGANIZATION NAME]. Your contribution helps us to [ENTER INFORMATION ABOUT THE DONATION PURPOSE] and we really appreciate your support.

All charitable platforms charge fees to fundraise on their site and a mandatory credit card fee. Those fees are taken out even when you use the donate button on our own site. CrowdRise's platform fee is 5.9% and the credit card fee is 2.9% + $0.30.

What makes CrowdRise unique is that they offer our donors the option to cover all of our fees including what the credit card companies take. With this set-up, you've generously covered our fees so that 100% of your donation will go directly to our cause. If every donor covers the fees our cost is zero.

And, just so you have some perspective, the cost of fundraising via other methods (direct mail, hosting an event or gala, advertising, etc.) averages about 20% to 30% of our fundraising cost. So, covering the fees and allowing us to keep 100% of the funds donated is a big deal.

We hope that all makes sense and really do appreciate your support. If you have any other questions, you can reach out directly to CrowdRise at GivingTower@CrowdRise.com and they'll get right back to you.

Thanks again for everything.

The Story section of your page contains text about the Challenge, your mission, what every donation means to your cause, what all money raised and won will go towards.

Email every board member separately to encourage them to become fundraisers.
Email your staff to encourage them to become fundraisers.
Email your supporters to encourage them to become fundraisers for the Challenge.
Do you have an email ready to go for your fundraisers to get them ready to go on launch and throughout the Challenge?
Create your own donor incentives. Maybe you have tee shirts you can give away to the five people who donate the most during a particular week or a day off to a staff member who raised the most money.
Get an email ready for launch day to send to your list of supporters.
Check out the Toolkit Email Drafts section for lots of drafts you can customize and get ready to send before and during the Challenge.

Charity

Make sure the Toolkit is bookmarked so it's always easy to reference.
Share the Toolkit with your staff and anyone else who needs to be on the same page.
Have an email list created and ready to go full of good solid donor contacts including board members.
Make sure you know which days you are going to be sending email communications. Utilize the calendar in the Toolkit to get ahead of the game.
Get ready to use Social Media to further your Challenge messaging. Use our customizable social media posts to get started and make sure someone on your staff is ready to post content, point out big donations, create momentum by giving a countdown of days left, talk about current Bonus Challenges, etc.

If you do all of the above, you'll definitely be all ready to go on launch day. So, print this list, get prepared, get everyone on the same page, and get ready for all the fun.

What are the upfront costs for being involved in the CrowdRise Holiday Charity Challenge?
It costs nothing to be a part of the CrowdRise Giving Tower.

And, for the duration of the CrowdRise Giving Tower and the CrowdRise Holiday Charity Challenge, we're offering every organization our Tre plan for free. The Tre plan guarantees you'll see an effective rate no greater than 3%, and that includes credit card fees. So amazing, right?

Here's how we make it happen...

On the Tre plan, the per transaction fee for Challenge organizations is 5.9% + credit card fees (2.9% + $0.30). And, we're giving all participants a Donor Cover the Fees button on their donor checkout page. That means that each time you get a donation, your donors will have the option to cover your fees, and if they all choose to, you’ll essentially be getting free fundraising.

If your donors don't cover enough of your fees to get you to a 3% effective rate for this Challenge, CrowdRise will make up the difference.

Please note the guarantee includes credit card fees but does exclude all individual donations of $1,000 or more.

To take advantage of the free Tre plan, you will need to follow these super quick steps:

• Log in to your charity account on CrowdRise and Click Here.
• On the right hand side you’ll see the Tre plan option in a purple box… click the “Upgrade Account” button.
• Next, you’ll be prompted to fill out some billing information and you can enter the coupon code emailed to you so that your credit card will not be charged through the end of the Challenge.
• Please note, if your charity is already on the Tre pricing, please Email Us and we'll solve everything and apply the coupon.

Right now there are over 3,500 organizations using this functionality including Unicef, Volunteers of America and Make a Wish. The current effective rate for all the organizations on this plan is 1.67%. Or, said another way, the organizations are keeping on average $98.33 out of every $100 raised. This pricing structure usually costs $50/month but we’re giving it to you free for the duration of the Challenge. So, so great. If you have any questions about this at all, please please Email Us and we'll solve everything.

That was the longest FAQ ever. But such a good one.

How do I post an update about my Challenge fundraiser?
Updating your supporters on your campaign is key to raising more money. It keeps them engaged, allows you to customize your asks, and definitely provides more communication on #GivingTuesday and throughout the Challenge. And, we've found that those organizations that post campaign updates raise 3x more and have 4x as many repeat donors.

Some quick instructions on how to post an update:

1. Log in to your account Here and view your fundraiser.
2. Locate the POST AN UPDATE bubble above the STORY section on the main fundraiser page.
3. Click the POST AN UPDATE link.
4. Fill out the subject and body of your update then click SAVE & PREVIEW.

Three more notes...

-Your CrowdRise campaign update will post to your fundraiser to be viewed by all visitors to your page.
-Your update will also automatically be emailed to all of your current donors.
-Your donors can opt out of receiving your future campaign updates by following the link at the bottom of the campaign update email.
How do I change my profile picture?
This is going to be the best FAQ ever because it’s so, so easy. Your profile picture is the picture that shows up on your branded team page during the CrowdRise Holiday Charity Challenge. Also know that your profile picture will only show on your organization’s main page and not on the individuals that are a part of your team. If you’re not in love with your picture or if you want to change it up for one reason or another, just follow these these super fast instructions:

1. Log in to your account Here.
2. Select "My Profile" from the CrowdRise icon dropdown at the top right of your screen.
3. Then, place your cursor over the CrowdRise icon next to your name and select "Edit Photo."
4. Follow the steps to upload and crop the pic you want and you'll be all set.
What are offline donations and do they count towards the #GivingTuesday $25,000 prize as well as the CrowdRise Holiday Charity Challenge Bonus Challenges and Grand Prizes?
Offline donations are cash or check received by your organization during the course of the Challenge. Offline donations do not count towards the contests for the grand prizes, Bonus Challenge Prizes or any other prizes in the Challenge but we encourage you to enter any offline donations you receive on your own fundraising page to show the overall impact of the campaign. Remember, offline donations will show on your individual fundraising page but they will not show on the CrowdRise Holiday Charity Challenge leaderboard.
How do I find out if I've won the $25,000 #GivingTuesday prize?
You will get an email notifying you that you are the winner after #GivingTuesday is over. We'll also post the winner on the Challenge Page. You can also Email Us for a list of winners or anything else in the world.
How and when will the $25,000 #GivingTuesday prize be awarded?
If you are a winner of the $25,000 #GivingTuesday prize, you are a "Potential Winner" and will not receive a prize until you are verified and declared an "Official Winner" according to the Challenge Rules. Here's a little summary of how the verification process will work...

When the promotion ends, CrowdRise will reach out to the potential winner with instructions. You will be required to submit an affidavit of eligibility, liability and Publicity Release or a declaration and W9 within 48 hours. Only then will you be declared an "Official Winner".

If you do not return your required paperwork within the required period of time, you will forfeit your opportunity to win and we will choose another winner, time permitting.

Official winners of the #GivingTuesday prize will receive the funds within 75 days Post-Challenge after winner paperwork is completed.
How do I find out if I've won a Bonus Challenge or a Grand Prize?
The winners of the Bonus Challenges will get a really awesome email from CrowdRise. In addition, we’ll be posting the winners Here so check back weekly after each Bonus Challenge is done.

You can also Email Us for a winners list and anything else in the world. Check out the Challenge Rules for a little more info about how to win a grand prize and the Bonus Challenges.

Please note that it can take up to seven (7) business days to verify the winners. All Challenge participants will receive an email after the winners are determined and you can read more about it all in the Challenge Rules.
How and when will the Bonus Challenges and overall Challenge prizes be awarded?

What happens after the Challenge is over?
When the Challenge officially ends on January 5th at 1:59:59pm ET, the DONATE button on your page will be disabled. Meaning that you will not be able to receive any donations to your CrowdRise Holiday Charity Challenge fundraising page after this time.

However, if you want to start a new fundraiser, Email Us and we can set up a redirect for your page.
I have an event that I'm doing around the same time as the Challenge, how can I tie the event to this Challenge to really maximize donor giving?
Great question. We have lots of tips to help create momentum and drive donations during your event. Check 'em all out and please let us know if you have any questions.

• Have multiple laptops and/or tablets at your event that are set up on your Challenge fundraising page. Have staff or volunteers stand at those stations to help guide attendees through the simple donation process.
• Make sure your staff is familiar with the details of the Challenge so if approached, or if running a donate station, they are ready to answer questions and motivate their attendee to give.
• If you have a slide show or video at your event, make sure to add your fundraiser URL to each page so that throughout the presentation, donors can give on their phones or at your computer stations.
• Are you selling tickets to your event on Eventbrite? Link your registration to your Challenge page and encourage your attendees to become fundraisers. If you need any help setting it up, please Email Us and we'll be ready.
• Ask your emcee to talk about the Challenge and how winning would impact your cause. Use that stage to encourage donations and get the crowd excited about the opportunity you have with the Challenge.
• Use games to help create a fun atmosphere that encourages giving. For instance, every table that donates at least $250 gets entered to win a prize. By using their mobile phones, they don't even have to leave their seat to make it happen.
• Offline donations do not count towards the Challenge so if you have an auction of some sort and want to use it towards the Challenge, encourage donors to bid with their online donations. Maybe it's the first to donate $1,000 wins the prize or the donor that gives the most in the next 15 minutes wins the prize. The more you can move your donations online, the better it'll be for your leaderboard status.
• Check out the Bonus Challenge section in the Toolkit and get your attendees to help you try to win the week of your event. They're fun and accessible to everyone.
“Course it does. Why shouldn't it? Ya figure you put that little box under your pillow at night, the Guarantee Fairy might come by and leave a quarter, am I right, Ted?”
No chance you’re still looking at this but if you are, Email Us with the name of the movie the quote above is from and you'll automatically be entered to win a pizza party for your organization at the end of the Challenge. Click Here for the pizza party rules. Sweepstakes ends January 3rd, 2017 at 11:59:59am ET. No purchase necessary.
