EVENT: 2014 UCR DANCE MARATHON
EVENT DATE: Feb 22, 2014
UCR introduced the DANCE MARATHON two years ago and the Guardian Scholars are the sole beneficiaries of this student-led effort to literally step out and up in support of educational access and equity. For the 2014 UCR DANCE MARATHON, we have received an amazing challenge grant: if WE raise TWENTY THOUSAND DOLLARS, we will receive ANOTHER TWENTY THOUSAND DOLLARS from a donor.
We MUST raise 20 thousand dollars (or more!) to take advantage of this amazing challenge grant. Please consider contributing to help us achieve this goal. One hundred percent of your donation goes directly to the Guardian Scholars program at UCR, and is tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.
The Guardian Scholars Program supports the 5% of foster youth who are not able to return home and age out of the child welfare system to face the challenges of adulthood alone. We help these youth to rekindle and realize their dreams on our campus and in our community. From their very first days as applicants navigating the financial aid and admissions processes, to their final push for graduation with the purchase of caps and gowns, we offer emotional and material support to these exceptional scholars. Your gifts provide year-round housing, food cards, book assistance, emergency funds, monthly activities with family-style dinners, and a host of other services to these youngsters. We are a family in every sense of the word, and your support helps to keep us strong and successful.
We can’t let this opportunity to DOUBLE the value of each and every gift pass us by! Please contribute to the 2014 Guardian Scholars Dance Marathon.
Thank you for your support!
