Domestic violence is one of the leading causes of homelessness for women and children in the United States. Local shelters play a critical role in helping families in crisis, but they are short-term in nature. Too often, women must decide between returning to an abuser or becoming homeless.
Sharon Manor provides a different alternative – longer-term housing combined with essential support services which enable women to achieve self-sufficiency. The demand for services provided by Sharon Manor is great. We currently have over 40 women and families on our waiting list.
Sharon Manor combines safe, decent and affordable housing with critical one-on-one support to help families impacted by violence to take life-changing steps toward self-reliance. Our case manager meets weekly with women residents helping them to accomplish self identified goals such as:
- increasing household income
- building self-esteem
- continuing education
- improving parenting skills
A family's success at Sharon Manor is made possible by donors and community members like you! Please help support them today.
