Help us feed local families who are going hungry right here in North Central Massachusetts. Statistics don’t always tell the whole story. 1 in 4 or 5 children are food-insecure.
What does that mean for our community? In Gardner, 840 children don’t have enough food; Fitchburg, 1,845; Leominster, 1,855; Athol, 530. In the 22 communities we serve, it means too many kids don't have enough food.
$10 = 26 meals $20 = 52 meals $50 = 133 meals
We need your help so we can package ANOTHER 20,000+ meals for local families through an innovative program that is harnessing the collective power of volunteerism to provide healthy and nutritious meals.
Please give as generously as you can to United Way Hunger Heroes.
You can help us reach our goal of 20,000 meals.
Here is why:
A staggering 49 million in America, including 1 in 4 or 5 children, are food-insecure. 37% of young families in our country live below the poverty line (the highest level on record). We have local food banks and local food pantries and schools that would like more meals than we can produce.
Through our partnership with Outreach Inc., we are able to package a meal that will feed a family of four for .38. And best of all, they taste great and are healthy.
For our community to thrive, everyone needs food security. It is critical—especially for children—to have healthy and nutritious meals so they can learn, grow and be successful.
