THE STORY:

Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund wrote -

The Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund is the nation’s leader in serving wounded or injured United States military personnel and their families. Supporting these heroes helps repay the debt all Americans owe them for the sacrifices they have made in service to our nation.

Over 625,000 service members, nearly one in seven who served, are living with Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and Post Traumatic Stress (PTS), the signature wounds of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. In 2010, the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund built the National Intrepid Center of Excellence (NICoE) in Bethesda, MD. NICoE provides the most advanced services for advanced diagnostics, initial treatment plan and family education, introduction to therapeutic modalities, referral and reintegration support for military personnel and veterans with TBI and post-traumatic stress.

The Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund has recently launched the “Make It Visible” mission, which is a $100 million fundraising campaign to build nine NICoE Satellite Centers across the country. These nine state-of-the-art facilities will provide our returning veterans, suffering from Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and Post-Traumatic Stress (PTS), with the highest quality of care that our nation has to offer.

We need your help as 100% of every dollar you donate to the “Make It Visible” campaign will go toward design and construction costs, state-of-the-art equipment, treatment research and so much more. With your help, we can make these invisible signs of war visible.

Everything I do when it comes to veterans I do because they deserve so much better than what they are getting. The VA is overloaded with people, they can't handle even the basic needs for surgery that some vets have, often there is a long wait for appointments. The hopelessness of PTSD and TBI are made worse by the lack of availability of services - and how they have to wait so long to even sign up in the beginning. Our soldiers were injured in this war and we owe it to them to help them back up. We stood and protested their being put in harms way and this is why, because of what it does to them. We should stand now and protest that they don't have enough services by helping the IFHF raise money for more centers to help them. We should do our part, because it would only come out of our taxes and then some of the money would be spent unwisely. This way we can count on the money being spent in a way that helps them the most. 5 years ago
