You donated and I ran, Mission Accomplished!!
November 10, 2016
On Sunday, November 6, 2016 I will be participating as a member of Athletes vs. Epilepsy in the TCS New York City Marathon. My goal is to help the Epilepsy Foundation raise awareness about epilepsy and to support epilepsy-related services, education, advocacy and research.
Over 3 million people in the US are affected by epilepsy, more than twice the amount of people that suffer from cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, multiple sclerosis and Parkinson's disease combined. Despite the prevalence of epilepsy in our communities, it is a neurological disorder that continues to be desperatley under-funded and widely misunderstood. The Epilepsy Foundation is committed to improving the lives of individuals and families affected by epilepsy, and ensuring that the requisite funding is available for the treatment and support that people with epilepsy critically need.
Please help support the Epilepsy Foundation and those affected by epilepsy by helping me to raise funds (I believe all dontations are 100% deductible). All of the money raised goes to the Epilepsy Foundation. You can learn about them at www.epilepsy.com.
Thank you in advance for your generosity and help. I greatly appreciate it!!
As a member of Athletes vs Epilepsy 2016 TCS New York City Marathon team, I am committing to fundraising the minimum requirement of $3,000.
Athletes vs. Epilepsy is a nationwide program for athletes of all ages and levels, coaches, volunteers and fans. The goal is to raise awareness, build participation, and help fund the Epilepsy Foundation’s mission to stop seizures and SUDEP, find a cure, and overcome the challenges created by epilepsy through efforts including education, advocacy, and research to accelerate ideas into therapies. The initiative helps to bring epilepsy awareness to all sports through participation by athletes of all ages and skill levels as well as their supportive friends, family, and fans.
The Epilepsy Foundation is dedicated to ensuring that people with epilepsy can experience all that life has to offer. Athletes vs. Epilepsy affirms this positive message and embodies it through action and the belief that anyone, regardless of athletic talent, can help to fundraise and raise awareness.
YOU can make a difference in your life and in the lives of others. Donate to the cause through our team fundraising page or join the Athletes vs. Epilepsy initiative. Visit AthletesVsEpilepsy.com for more information and opportunities to get involved.
