I can't tell you how much we appreciated all the amazing crowdrise support for our kids here in South Africa.
Our biggest and most pressing program cost is transporting our students to class. The kids take public minibuses to class, sometimes investing as much as 2 hours in transit time per class. A ride costs between $1 and $2 dollars each way and there are 9 to 11 classes per month. It works out to an average of $39 per student per month. This is not a big cost, but it’s a luxury that none of our students or their families can afford.
So we kindly ask you for assistance in sponsoring one student’s transport costs for the month of May.
As a bonus, the students love the idea of sending their sponsor a handwritten postcard from the rural Nkomazi region telling them what they learned that month in class. So if you donate the full $39 for a student you get a special message from one of our amazing kids. Please know though that any amount makes a huge difference!
The 15 special kids who make up the Imagine Academy thank you :)
