The House of Blessings Orphanage in Callebasse, Haiti was in the process of building a school when a massive earthquake rocked the country two years ago. The school was damaged and further construction was halted as House of Blessings became a center for relief and rebuilding for the village of Callebasse. Since the disaster, House of Blessings has brought in supplies and work crews to construct over 140 homes in the area. This humble orphanage, started over 20 years ago, has truly lived up to it's name.
Now it's time for us to be a blessing to them.
We are raising funds to help House of Blessings finish the school that was left unfinished and damaged after the earthquake. May 16 - 23 a small group of us from here in Southwest Michigan will be traveling to work side by side with our Haitian friends. Some of us worked with House of Blessings shortly after the earthquake in 2010 and we're so excited to return and introduce others to this amazing organization. Everyone on the trip is paying their own way so all the money raised here is going directly to the building project. [note: Helping Hands in Motion is the name of the non-prof that organizes trips and construction efforts for House of Blessings. Again, the funds raised here will go directly to the school project.]
Be a part of lasting, sustainable development in Haiti by providing a school for the village of Callebasse. Help House of Blessings continue to bless its community, country and world.
