BENEFITING: ELM RESEARCH INSTITUTE INCORPORATED
Purpose: To restore the native American elm tree in towns and cities across the country. Over 100 million elms were wiped out by Dutch elm disease between 1945 and 1975. The Elm Research Institute, founded in 1967, has developed a truly disease resistant American elm after extensive genetic engineering and testing. You can help us restablish America’s favorite tree around the U.S. by joining the Liberty Tree Society. (See more details included in this brochure.)
We hope you will check out our website when you have an opportunity and join us. As a thank you, you will receive a personal Liberty Tree Memorial consisting of (1) 3 ft. tall Liberty Elm, a bronze plaque and a handsome membership certificate.
By joining, you will help us achieve the goals of the Society:
1) celebrate Liberty Tree Day on August 14th every year
2) establish a Liberty Tree Memorial in your town
3) introduce “Whatever Happened to the Liberty Tree” as a classroom project in your local school.
4) order Liberty Elms for replanting in your town.
