BENEFITING: MASSACHUSETTS GENERAL HOSPITAL
ORGANIZER: MASSACHUSETTS GENERAL HOSPITAL
EVENT: Boston Marathon 2014
EVENT DATE: Apr 21, 2014
I am so thrilled and honored that my first marathon ever will be the 2014 Boston Marathon, and that I will be running alongside my sister, Meredith. This run will be one of the most historic 26.2 mile runs ever and Meredith and I are SO honored to be a part of it.
April 2014 is not only the month of the marathon, but it will mark Meredith's 8th year in remission from cancer. Our entire family is so thankful for the amazing care she received at MGH, and running this marathon is our way of giving back. As this is my first marathon I am not entirely sure what I am getting myself into, but I know that it will be amazing. Mer and I will keep everyone updated with our training and fundraising progess along the way through our blog: http://hudsonstrong.wordpress.com/ Please follow and share!
Your money could directly help someone like Meredith, so please consider giving to this wonderful cause. We really appreciate your support in any form! #Run4MGH!
Hope to see you in April and THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!
MASSACHUSETTS GENERAL HOSPITAL wrote -
Since 1998, with the partnership of John Hancock Financial, the Mass General Marathon Team has raised nearly $9 million to support the pediatric hematology-oncology program at MassGeneral Hospital forChildren (MGHfC). Funds raised are directed to cancer care and research initiatives that enhance the quality of life for the hospital’s youngest cancer patients.
MGHfC has put these funds to good use advancing cutting-edge research, increasing the number of clinical studies to improve cure rates and providing the best treatment possible to pediatric cancer patients. But MGHfC is also focused on the quality of life of its young patients and their families. The marathon program also supports child life activities such as art and music therapy and support services for parents and siblings of patients.
We are grateful for the hard work of all of our runners and the dedication of their family and friends as they go through this historic journey.
