2017 Walk for Mental Health
EVENT DATE: May 16, 2017
Access to mental health treatment continues to be a major health care needed in the Roanoke Valley. Without treatment, many of the 22.1% of adults who experience mental illness will go without care until their illnesses result in a crisis. Mental Health America of Roanoke Valley provides critical access to services for members of our community, young and old, who are facing mental health issues. These services include a free clinic for uninsured adults, a program for children who have witnessed domestic violence, education and support for parents of children with mental illnesses or behavior problems, and advocacy efforts to improve access to mental health care in the Roanoke Valley. The funds raised by the walk will support those programs and more, and over 95% of every $1 you donate stays right here in the community!
