TEAM MACQUARIE
Disadvantaged New Yorkers dedicate hundreds of hours to rebuilding their lives through training and employment. Together, we will run hundreds of miles to support them.
For nearly 30 years, HOPE has transformed the lives of New Yorkers living in poverty by giving them the skills and confidence to get good jobs and climb the career ladder. Macquarie has been a proud partner of HOPE, providing jobseekers with mock one-on-one interviews, career advice and encouragement, interview clothing, and on-the-job training. Now, we're logging miles to change hundreds more lives!
WHO IS TEAM MACQUARIE?
We are a group of colleagues and friends who came together help address one of the most pressing issues facing our city and our nation - unemployment. We are training for and participating in the Brooklyn Half Marathon (13.1 miles) on May 19. While we are taking on a huge challenge, it is little compared to that of HOPE students. We are inspired by these men and women who have faced huge challenges - low educational attainment, communities of crime and poverty, little work experience, and low self-esteem. Yet they are unwavering in their commitment to build brighter futures for themselves, their families and their communities. We are excited to join them, and we hope you will join us!
HOW YOU CAN HELP
Team Macquarie has committed to raise money for HOPE, and we need your help so that we - and HOPE students - can cross the finish line. You can make a tax-deductible donation to our team by clicking on the “Donate” button! No donation is too small.
"I wish I could hang a banner in Times Square to let everyone know how HOPE has changed my life. Before I came here, I felt like I hit a wall. Now I have a full-time job in a field that I love - and a brighter future!" –Edwin.
