Next summer, Kyle Maynard will climb Africa's highest peak, Mt. Kilimanjaro. Kyle is a quadruple amputee. No Barriers, a non-profit organization that helps people with disabilities push through their own personal barriers to live full and active lives, will support Kyle’s incredible journey. I learned about Kyle from one of my 9th Grade Global History students, who had just completed a lesson on Kilimanjaro and African geography. My students found Kyle’s story so inspiring, so I decided to do what I can to support him. I will run two marathons dedicated to Kyle and his mission. Each step will be a tribute to Kyle and a thank you for the inspiration he is providing.
Would you join in this effort by making a contribution? Your dollars will go directly to No Barriers and will help support Mission Kilimanjaro as well as other worthy projects. By contributing, you will be connected to three challenges—my running of two marathons in New York City (completed in 3:38!!) and the Miami Marathon (1/29/12) in addition to Kyle’s climb of Kilimanjaro. Contributions of any size are welcome and greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance for your help!
