Dr. Mark Beaty is a double board certified facial plastic surgeon specializing in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery from the neck up. He founded Beaty Facial Plastic Surgery in 2011, where he offers individualized rejuvenation surgery, as well as non- and minimally-invasive procedures for cosmetic enhancement of the face.
Recently published in two journals regarding face and neck rejuvenation, Dr. Beaty’s paper on ProLift, his own trademarked approach to face and neck lift, appeared in the 2014 spring edition of Facial Plastic Surgery Clinics of North America. He also contributed a chapter on neck lift in Dr. Richard Gentile's 2011 book, Neck Rejuvenation. Dr. Beaty’s Progressive Limited Incision Facelift Technique (ProLift) has been presented to physician peers at meetings in New Orleans, Nassau and New York.
Dr. Beaty’s commitment to excellence in patient care and advancement of surgical technique is reflected by his active participation in the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the Facial Plastic Surgery Academy’s Domestic Violence Program, offering pro bono surgical services to victims of domestic abuse.
Dr. Beaty began his medical training at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine, where he graduated with highest honors and received the D. Kay Clawson Award for outstanding academic and leadership contributions to the institution. He then completed his residency training at the University of Iowa Department of Otolaryngology, widely recognized as the leading program in the country.
Following residency, Dr. Beaty completed fellowship training in Facial Plastic Surgery at Emory-affiliated Buckhead Facial Plastic Surgery. During this fellowship, covering all aspects of cosmetic facial surgery, Dr. Beaty authored two journal articles and served as clinical instructor in facial plastic surgery to Emory University residents. Dr. Beaty received the Sir Harold Delf Gilles award from the American Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery for his research evaluating the effects of various rhinoplasty techniques on nasal architecture.
Dr. Beaty was selected as a spokesperson for Ulthera, a global medical device company, in both the US and Europe in 2012 and 2013. A regular speaker on face and neck rejuvenation, Dr. Beaty has also been featured on several Atlanta radio and TV shows. He has two Atlanta offices in Alpharetta and Midtown.
Dr. Beaty resides in Atlanta with his wife, Laura M. Beaty, MD, and daughter Ava. The Beaty’s are active in the community, supporting numerous local charities including Atlanta Community Food Bank, UNICEF, Children’s HealthCare Atlanta and EDIN.
Carrie Couch was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia and trained classically throughout her life and into college at the University of Georgia where she earned a BS.Ed in Dance Education. While at UGA, she performed in both the UGA Ballet Ensemble as well as the Ballroom Performance Group. With knowledge of nearly every dance genre under her belt, she decided to move to Los Angeles to further pursue her dance career. In her seven years in Tinseltown, Carrie taught at the renowned International Dance Academy in Hollywood while appearing both on stage and screen in performances including four Choreographer's Carnivals, Missy Elliot's "We Run This", CSI: Miami, and MTV Chi Rocks with the artist Adrienne Lau, the Bacardi BLive tour with Mixmaster Mike and Dan the Automator, and Chris Willis’ “Louder.” Carrie now teaches at several major dance studios in Atlanta and hopes to spread her passion and knowledge of dance to those of all levels. This will be Carrie’s second partnership with EDIN for Celebrity Dance Challenge.
