Family & Friends,
I have joined the “Mass General Marathon Team Fighting Kids’ Cancer… Once Step at a Time” and will be running the Boston Marathon to raise money to support pediatric cancer research at MGH.
The funds raised will go toward children fighting cancer at Mass General Hospital. The Pediatric Oncology Wing at MGH helps children with cancer through research, medicine and care. As part of my commitment to be on this team, I have promised to raise $5,000 for these children.
Last year I had the privilege to run in honor of a brave young girl named Olivia. Olivia and her family cheered along with my family at mile 20 (heartbreak hill). To run in honor of Olivia was such an inspiration to me; her support and courage motivated me throughout the day. This year I will be running for Olivia once again and her mother Stephanie will be joining me in the last 6 miles of the run!
I feel fortunate to have this opportunity, not only because it is a personal goal, but I will be able to reach this goal while supporting young children fighting to live disease free.
I won’t be able to do this alone and hope for your support. Your donation will help give these kids a fighting chance to beat this terrible disease. I hope you will consider supporting me in my marathon run by contributing to this very special program.
Whatever amount you choose, your dollars will be tremendously appreciated and help give a critically ill child a second chance at life. I'll be thinking of all of you April 16th on my run from Hopkinton to Boston!
