To connect and collaborate i…
To connect and collaborate is to generate power through and with people; this is when innovation happens.” — Emillia Noordhoek

I'm excited to announce that Emillia Noordhoek Executive Director of Sust `aina ble Molokai, has joined WASI as a delegate from the Hawaiian Island, Molokai. An Accredited Professional (AP) in Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED), Emillia holds a B.A. in Liberal Arts from the University of Oregon and a Masters Certificate in Real Estate Development from Portland State University. With extensive knowledge and experience in environmental management and the mortgage industry, Emillia’s former work as Resource Development and Marketing Director for the Molokai Habitat for Humanity focused on putting families into affordable homes and helping end the cycle of poverty. Many of the partner families she worked with were Hawaiian Homesteaders whose lands lacked basic infrastructure and access to public utilities. Leveraging her experiences, she built off-grid homes utilizing sustainable building materials, equipped with roof water catchment and solar photo-voltaic panels. Her tenacity and solutions-based approach qualified Molokai Habitat for Humanity as the first Habitat affiliate in Hawaii to register houses with Energy Star HERS rating and subsequent LEED certification. Under Molokai Habitat for Humanity’s Rehabilitation and Energy Upgrade Program, Emillia reached out to families living in dilapidated houses to make physical improvements that ensured greater safety, affordability, energy efficiency, and added space for culturally appropriate multi-generational `ohana purposes. Emillia also successfully implemented The Global Village, a dynamic program integrating local and global volunteerism to build homes and bring in much needed donations.

We have also been blessed by Ingetje Tadros who has graciously contributed some of her stunning photography to us. We are currently working very hard putting together a short video which will include her photographs and much, much more. Here is a link to her online album
We are working diligently writing proposals for funding from various corporations and other groups at the present time. We are very optimistic concerning the success of P.A.N. and are very happy to be a part of the Crowdrise community. We look forward to your assistance in launching P.A.N. Thank you all for your support. A donation of even $10 or $20 goes a long way towards covering the initial start up expenses so please help us by donating today.

Hello Maxxe, how are you doing? Welcome to Crowdrise. You are doing amazing things for charity by being a part of this site. Please consider supporting my fundraiser for The Trevor Project. It would mean so much to me.

The Trevor Project is all about helping teenagers that are struggeling daily with depression, anxiety, bullying, discrimination just because they are gay. I am a lesbian myself and I have personally experienced how it is when people say you are sick because you are gay. The Trevor Project is a helpline were teenagers can call in and talk to someone about what they are experiencing. There should be equal rights for everyone and it is time to raise awareness and help these teenagers get a good life and let them experience what true love is.

I hope to hear from you.

Stuff About Me:

Hello! :)

For 5 years now I have been volunteering for organizations like Habitat for Humanity.  I have been lucky enough to participate on 5 global builds and am going for my 6th this New Years.

However, this year is a bit different being the first time I have tried fundraising AND marking my second trip to the island!  I am really anxious to reach a goal of 1200$ for Sustainable Molokai- a tremendous organization with a serious mission of cultivating symbiotic partnerships for self-supporting projects such as Affordable Home Moloka'i.

In addition to working with 6 families building homes, we will be contributing to the implementation of permaculture projects.  Yes!

I have to tell you, my first trip in 2009/10 was an incredibly emotional experience.  This was more or less the first time I went on a build where the families and I shared a common language.  It made working with a family insanely moving as we moved from construction chat to gabbing over lunch in one fell swoop.  There is so much loving energy on Moloka'i, it is a gift to be part of it.

It means so much to me to travel this time of year and work to promote a better island for a better future.

Donating is super easy AND tax deductable!

And!  Even better- if you're interested in joining the team (or a future build), there are at least two available spots!!  Hurry and nip that in the butt by emailing Kat Williams at

Thank you for considering a donation.  I hope to see you on this build, or the next!
