The "Rock the Ridge" fundraiser's primary goal is to protect our great outdoors. Specifically, the money raised goes toward: preserving over 8,000 acres of the Shawangunk Mountains region, helping to safeguard clean water integral to the Hudson River and New York's water supply, protecting habitat critical for certain wildlife, like the Peregrine Falcon (which is listed as an endangered species in New York State), and providing environmental education progams for kids and adults. Being that I have a great affection for the outdoors and appreciate the positive role it plays in my life in many ways, I'm exceptionally excited to be participating in this cause. The event itself (to complete 50 miles in 24 hours) will challenge me as a person in a different way. I could not have found a more enticing combination of reasons to get involved!
My mandatory minimum goal is to raise $250. If you are able to make a donation of any amount, I would greatly appreciate it!
