Maria Shriver’s The Women’s Alzheimer’s Challenge recognizes that women are at the epicenter of the global Alzheimer’s epidemic and challenges organizations to do cutting edge research on women’s brains to defeat this mind-blowing disease. We partner with leading researchers, scientists and major non-profit organizations to create landmark women’s Alzheimer’s research funds to finance gender-specific research on women’s brains. We also challenge women, and the men that love their brains, to harness their power to get Educated, get Engaged and get Empowered to defeat this mind-blowing disease. Move for Minds on Saturday, May 21 is a mind-blowing experience where women and men in six cities across the country will use their bodies and their minds to raise awareness and money to support research on women’s brains and Alzheimer’s disease through The Women’s Alzheimer’s Challenge, an initiative of A Woman’s Nation, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.

Maria Shriver’s Women’s Alzheimer’s Research Challenge actively seeks to find out why women are disproportionately affected by Alzheimer’s and why women are at the epicenter of this disease. Answering that question requires a focus on what is particular to women’s biology, genetics, and lifestyle.
The Challenge has recruited five leading organizations and researchers in Alzheimer’s who have agreed to create “women’s Alzheimer’s research funds” to support high potential, gender-based research projects. 100% of the money raised through MOVE FOR MINDS will be distributed in grants from A Woman’s Nation to these exemplary organizations supporting researchers’ investigations will into sex-related, biological, genetic and lifestyle determinants. The money you sweat for will directly impact cutting-edge research on women’s brains at the following partner organizations.
