UPDATE: PISTOLS ARE COMPLETED! Thank you so much, everyone! Check out the new video to see them in action: Look out for your personal thank-you on the video!
(if you don't feel like watching the video, you can go to the bottom of this text and see the total...but I promise, the video is fun!)
My extreme gratitude to everyone who donated! It has been an amazing success! For everyone who donated per pistol, feel free to add your total any time in the next few days. If you are having trouble doing the math, let me know ;) Don't forget to subtract your initial $10 donation from the total!

The gist: Donate a few cents or dollars to watch Mr. Power squat like a trained monkey and raise money for high school students' PE equipment!
The details: As a new high school, Larchmont Charter has just started working to procure the materials necessary to provide students with what they need for a high-quality education.
I'm one of two impassioned educators doing the best we can to prepare students for a sustainable healthy lifestyle, but we currently have a lack of space and resources to help our students get a cutting-edge physical education.
This summer I'll be spending my break building a PE rig by hand so that our students have access to strength and conditioning equipment in the years to come. I'll be funding the project personally, and that's where you come in: You can help us out!
In a conversation with my friend Seth, he challenged me to do as many pistols, or one-legged squats, as I could in one hour and offered me one dollar per squat (to go to our PE program) as an incentive. I agreed, and we decided to let anyone in on the action.
Here's how it works: To donate any amount, from one cent to one hundred dollars per squat, indicate the amount in your comment. Since Crowdrise has a minimum donation fee of $10, just donate that for now. On June 28 I'll film myself participating in the challenge and post it to this page. Once posted, you'll get an email with the total squat amount so you can add your full donation minus the 10 you already gave.
1. Each squat must alternate right to left leg.
2. Hip crease on the squatting leg must pass below the knee.
3. Extended leg must not touch the ground.
4. At the top of the squat, hips must reach full extension.
Try a few yourself...they're pretty challenging. My goal will be to complete more than 100 pistols.
Bonus: If you donate $1 or more per squat, I'll put your name under the word "Donor" on a plaque that will be put on the equipment, and your legacy will live on for eternity.
If you'd rather just give a flat fee, that's totally cool (although not quite as interactive and fun). My students will appreciate any amount! I'll assume any donation, $10.01 and above, is a flat and final donation.
100% of what you donate will go straight to supplies for our PE classes next year, enabling us to have an awesome Strength & Conditioning course and Yoga course next year! I'll also include a video thanking you personally that I'll post on this page.
Thanks for looking!
-Robin (Mr. Power)
