The Music Therapy Ride is gearing up for a milestone celebration to mark 15 years of support for music therapy services in British Columbia. On September 17, more than 150 motorcycles will hit Highway 99 with full police escort, their goal to break a million dollars in funds raised to date.
The ride (MTR) is a local charity event that brings together prominent members of Vancouver’s music industry, members of the media, music therapists and supporters—all sharing the commitment to provide crucial services, programs and equipment to those most in need. Since 2001, MTR has raised more than $850,000 enabling the delivery of 24 music therapy programs and the production of 11 Bandwagons—innovative mobile recording studios used by therapists at care facilities including B.C. Children’s Hospital, Ronald McDonald House and Canuck Place Children’s Hospice.
This year’s ride, escorted once again by the prestigious VPD drill squad, concludes with an anniversary celebration and auction at Whistler Mountain. Help share the healing power of music by registering to ride or donating now.
