in honor of Lola's 12th birthday I thought it would be awesome to raise some $$ for the shelter I was lucky enough to find her at!

BENEFITING: ANIMAL CARE AND CONTROL OF NEW YORK CITY INC
Twelve years ago this August I opened my home, and almost immediately my heart, to a little pup I named Lola. She had been dumped out of a moving vehicle in East Harlem and after nearly being hit by numerous cars trying to run after her owner, she was found by a deli owner, quivering in the alley next to his store.
Lola is gorgeous, she doesn't bark or bite, she's housebroken, feisty, playful and adored by every person who meets her and most of all by me.
I give a lot of credit to the CACC where I found Lola. The entire team at the Manhattan branch were so kind and the adoption team works so hard to find great families for their pets.
Now some people may have trouble donating to an organization that is not a no-kill, but I ask you to look a little deeper. This is the NYC pound. They rescue 3,500 animals EVERY SINGLE MONTH - and the bulk of their funding from the city of NY has been cut over the last year. They are literally running on a shoe string.
What that means is they would have to find 125 loving homes every single day to keep up...how is that possible? At this point it's not, but with a little bit of help from animal lovers like you and me, we can give more little girls like my Lola a shot at the good life they so deserve and get the CACC that much closer to being a no-kill operation. Thanks in advance for your help!
