Once again we are racing snowboards and raising funds for a great cause!
The NC Foundation focuses on efforts that support the wellbeing of young people in Montana with the ultimate goal of reducing and eliminating suicide and suicide attempts.
The 16th Annual Nate Chute Banked Slalom and Boardercross will take place on March 21st and 22nd, 2015. This is the largest snowboard event in Montana! There will be over 100 racers racing against the clock on Saturday down a unique, hand-carved banked slalom course. On Sunday up to six racers at a time will scream down an awesome course in a battle for first place in the Boardercross. It's all in the name of fun, comradery, good times and raising funds for the NC Foundation. Saturday will end with an Awards Ceremony for the Banked Slalom, while Sunday will include a Lap for the Lost after the Boardercross, followed by an award ceremony for the Boardercross, overall winners, and recognition of the Crowdrise NC Foundation Team Members!
The NC Foundation has two primary program areas: support for the Student Assistance Program (SAP) in the Whitefish, Columbia Falls and Bigfork School Districts; and making counseling services available to young people who otherwise could not afford such services through the Youth Suicide Prevention Program (YSPP). The SAP organizes facilitated, age-specific, peer-to-peer support groups that reaches a broad audience of students with services that address many of the underlying issues that contribute to suicidal behavior. The YSPP provides up to 8 sessions of non-emergency therapy for young people that are at risk of suicide. To be eligible the young person must be between ages of 12-24, have no insurance or Medicaid, or face a financial barrier to receive therapy. Details about both the SAP and the YSPP can be found at www.natechutefoundation.org.
The NC Foundation is so committed to these programs that every competitor that raises $300 or more dollars through Crowdrise will have their entry fees paid by the NC Foundation. Competitors must preregister for the event as usual. The NC Foundation will provide you with a check for the registration amount on the morning of the event at check in - When you get your bib, you will get a check!
