The Nautica Malibu Triathlon will be held on Saturday, September 15th (International) and Sunday, September 16th (Classic)! Over 5,000 athletes will participate. Your determination and help will offer a tremendous amount of support to Pediatric Cancer Research at Children's Hospital Los Angeles!

Fundraising Incentive Prizes

$250 by August 24th
• Reserved Registration: MESP reserves Classic Distance registration entries for Corporate Challenge / Entertainment Industry Challenge athletes that commit to raising $250 by August 24, 2018
• Team Scoring: If you raise $250 by August 24 you will officially qualify to be a part of your Corporate Challenge / Entertainment Industry Challenge team and will be eligible to have your race time count towards your team’s overall place against other corporations for the fastest team
• Team Racking: You have trained and fundraised with your team, now rack together too! Your team will receive a designated area with custom signage within the transition area for your team to rack their bikes. Great for a first time athlete looking for a little direction in the morning from a friendly face or just to enjoy the team spirit and camaraderie.
• Fundraiser Picnic – You’ve worked hard to meet the fundraising minimum, now enjoy the fundraiser picnic held on Zuma Beach on August 25, 2018!

$350 by August 24, 2018 (July 27 for Swim Clinics)
• Post-Race Athlete Brunch: Raise $350 by August 24, and you will relax and enjoy a catered brunch on the beach after the Sunday Classic Distance race. You’ve fundraising and raced, and have earned your spot in the athlete brunch.
• Swim Clinic Series presented by Bank of America Merrill Lynch: If you have raised $350 by July 27, MESP will host a swim clinic series throughout the summer with triathlon coaches and plenty of life guards for you to practice your open water swimming. You will also receive samples from the event sponsors.  Swim Clinic Series presented by Bank of America Merrill Lynch dates are as follows:

$500 by September 7, 2018
• Early Packet Pickup: The event will host an early packet pickup in Burbank which makes picking up your race packet easy without having to travel to the beach. Athletes must raise a minimum of $500 by September 7 to receive this prize.

$500 by September 15, 2018
• Nautica branded towel: Raise $500 by September 15 and receive this extremely popular Nautica branded item!

$750 by September 15, 2018
• Nautica branded items: Raise $750 and receive great Nautica branded items! Details to be announced very soon!

$1,000 by September 15, 2018
• Raise $1,000 and receive another awesome prize! Details to be announced very soon!
• Family Brunch Pass – Raise $1,000 and upgrade your brunch pass to a family brunch pass (max 2 adults 2 children).

• Early Wave Start: Raise $2,500 by August 31 and receive the opportunity to start in an early wave.

$5,000 by September 7, 2018
• VIP Parking Pass: Raise $5,000 by September 7th and receive a VIP Parking Pass.

• Valet Parking: Raise $10,000 by September 7 and take the stress out of parking with valet parking.
• VIP Bike Racking: Raise $10,000 by September 7 and enjoy VIP bike racking in Transition Area.

Swim Clinics presented by Bank of America Merrill Lynch

For many, the swim leg of a triathlon can be the most daunting.

The Nautica Malibu Triathlon, professional coaches, and LA County Lifeguards are here to help with any fears you may have and improve your open water swimming!

As a benefit for your fundraising efforts, we will be hosting a summer-long swim clinic series and encourage you to join us. Come for one clinic or all of them, all ability levels are welcome (You must be able to swim 500 yards in a pool). 

Swim Clinics presented by Bank of America Merrill Lynch will be held from 7:30am to 8:30am at Tower #10.

You must raise a minimum of $350 if you are on a Corporate/Entertainment Team or $500 if you are a member of the General Public by July 27.

Tot Trot
Benefitting Children’s Hospital Los Angeles

The Nautica Malibu Triathlon is fun for the whole family. On Sunday September 16, 2018 Nautica invites all kids 12 years of age and under to participate in their own race – The Tot Trot. The Beach Dash will be 50 yards for children 7 and under and 100 yards for children ages 8-12. Participating children will receive a Tot Trot and Kids Run bag, a commemorative race medal and a race t-shirt. So bring your kids and cheer them on as they run for the finish line with a celebrity guest leading the way!

The Tot Trot has sold out for the past several years, so register now and tell your friends!

It’s never too early to start your fundraising. Below are some templates you can use to send to friends and family and blow past the $250 minimum in no time! The key is to reach out as soon as you can and spread your net wide! You may be surprised to how quickly those donations add up. Below are some template emails and posts to help get you started.

HOW DO I SUBMIT A CHECK DONATION?

If a donor prefers to write a check for his or her donation, you may submit using the following steps:

1) Please make sure the check is payable to Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.

2) Log the check on your fundraising page as an offline donation using these steps:

A) Login to your account on www.CrowdRise.com

B) In the upper right hand corner of your screen, click on the CrowdRise icon drop down menu.

C) Click on “My Fundraisers” and click on your Nautica fundraising page to access your dashboard

D) On the left hand side of the page, click on “Advanced”

E) Click on “Offline Donation Manager”

F) Enter the donor names and amounts of your check(s)

G) Click submit


3) When you have finished entering your offline donation(s), mail the check(s) to:

DO YOU ACCEPT CORPORATE MATCHING GIFTS?

We appreciate all companies who match their employees' donations! Please complete the appropriate form and process that your company requires then add the donation to your online fundraising page per the instructions below. Keep in mind that the turnaround for companies to send us the matching gift may vary.

After you have submitted your company’s matching gift form, you must add the offline matching gift donation on your fundraising page, using the steps below:


A) Login to your account on www.CrowdRise.com

B) In the upper right hand corner of your screen, click on the CrowdRise icon drop down menu.

C) Click on “My Fundraisers” and click on your Nautica fundraising page to access your dashboard

D) On the left hand side of the page, click on “Advanced”

E) Click on “Offline Donation Manager”

F) In the donor name field, enter the name of the matching company + “Matching” (e.g. “Acme, Inc. Matching” and the amount to be matched.

G) Click submit



IS THERE A DEADLINE FOR FUNDRAISING?

Yes, the deadline to raise the minimum donation of $250 is Friday, August 24, 2018. The benefits of meeting this minimum contribution are reserved registration and team racking in the transition area. Early packet pickup will be earned at the $500 level.


Once you’ve reached the $250 level, keep fundraising up to the day of the race to qualify for higher level incentive prizes!



HOW DO I SUBMIT A CASH DONATION?

Please keep the cash and write a personal check to Children's Hospital Los Angeles on behalf of your donor. Please follow the steps above to submit a check donation. You may also bring cash to the race and hand it to the Children's Hospital Los Angeles staff on site.
