The Robert S. Peterson, and Doris and Norma Van Gorp foundations have pledged to match every dollar donated for the new building renovation. Up to $200,000
The Gary Burnstein Community Health Clinic is a free clinic in Pontiac Michigan, treating the uninsured. The majority of our patients are "the working poor". Those are people that have jobs but barely make enough money to cover their day-to-day bills. These are your friends and neighbors (as long as you live in Michigan)
Being sick is very expensive, and keeping a disease like diabetes or asthma at bay is hard on the pocket book. A single box of insulin costs $300 at the pharmacy, and lasts 3 weeks. An asthmatic requires inhalers which costs $105-$300 a piece and needs at least two a month.
We help these people stay healthy by providing them with a doctor, medication and dental care. These vital services allow them to keep their jobs and stay out of the emergency room. The Robert S. Peterson foundation has recently purchased a building for the clinic. The new building will allow us to help more people, and provide more comprehensive care. However, its conversion from an auto parts distribution center to a modern medical clinic will be an expensive one.
Please donate, and help your neighbors in need.
