The Story

EVENT DATE: Sep 09, 2017

The 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb is an event held in NOLA each year to honor those responders that lost their lives in the World Trade Center attack in 2001.  This terrorist event changed our lives forever and their are still responders that are alive but suffer from the ill effects fighting those fires, breathing in all the noxious fumes, and fighting the flashbacks from that day!  There are also family members of the 343 firefighters that were left behind.  This Stair Climb is to honor the memory of those responders who ran towards the disaster and not away.  Funds collected will go to the Louisiana Heroes Project.

The New Orleans 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb is not a race, but rather a tribute honoring those that have made the ultimate sacrifice with their life. First responders will climb 110 floors fulfilling that promise to "NEVER FORGET". ALL climbers will wear a lanyard with the name and picture of a fallen hero who perished on 9/11/01. The New Orleans Stair Climb will also honor and rememberthose first responders from across the Gulf South who have died in the Line of Duty. Funds collected will go to the Louisiana Heroes Project.
