Last year Direct Edge held a 'pink shirt day' fundraiser, we will do the same thing this year and donate money here for the red cross... Dan started this movement so here is what he had to say...

This all started out because like many of us, I lost power and the thought of shaving in the dark and a 50 degree house seemed so unnecessary given all that was going on. When I returned to work Thursday, many people commented on my facial hair (I think most were surprised I could actually grow facial hair!!!) My comment to all was, "I'm not going to shave until I get power back".
The more I saw the devastation everywhere, the more I got to thinking that this wasn't about me getting power back but about all the hardship and pain being endured throughout the region and the superficial things in life should take a pause while we work to remove the hardships and bring people back to normalcy.
So, I personally pledged to not shave for the month of November (well, was actually going to call it November 23rd , since I have a wedding that weekend and will need to clean up for it, or will expose myself to family hardships :-) )
How can you help?
1. Join me - even if you shaved, stop now and join the crusade to raise awareness and money for those in need. Email me if you're IN.
2. Donate - here is the best spot for that
3. Spread the word - share this with everyone you know - let's show the power of many and make this HUGE, you are all part of the team.
I want to thank you in advance for your efforts. While many of us have endured hardship because of the storm, for most of us it pales in comparison to all that we have seen and heard. I can think of no better time to be thankful for all I have and do what I can to help those who didn't come out as fortunate and need all the help we can give
Godspeed to all as we continue this journey of life.
