Thanks for stopping by iMentor’s Online Donor Drive!
As many of you know and some of you do not, this is my third year as a member of iMentor, and it's hard to imagine being a part of a mentoring organization that does more to keep up with changing technologies to help students and adults in New York City connect in a meaningful way. My mentee this year is Eldier, born in Honduras and currently residing in Queens; he moved here three years ago and is still adjusting to life in New York City. He has big goals to garner a degree in engineering or science and loves to play soccer (both in real life and in video games), and we're working hard together on determining what comes next in life. The Online Donor Drive (ODD) is a "friendraising" campaign aimed at raising funds to support iMentor's vital work. The campaign asks iMentor’s 1800 mentors to create pages and invite their networks to support their passion for mentoring. ODD is an outlet for crowdsourcing, fundraising and social interaction that allows pagemakers to tap into their competitive sides for a good cause!
Every dollar makes a difference. A donation as small as $10 makes a huge difference; $25 allows a mentee to attend a year of iMentor events; $100 supplies a mentee with a year's access to monthly career and college preperation events; $500 sponsors a mentee’s participation for an entire year. You get it: every little bit helps. As a newer member of iMentor's Young Executive Board, I have set goals to rasie between $500 and $1,000 dollars this year. But again, every $5 matters if you can spare it.
We have all had someone in our lives that we consider a role model or a mentor. Don’t you think today’s youth deserve the same opportunity? iMentor makes this possible. Thank you so much for reading through and have a great day.

iMentor is the premiere mentoring program in NYC. This year alone, iMentor will match 1,800 professionals in one-on-one relationships with students from low income neighborhoods in NYC. In addition, iMentor will bring our innovative model to thousands of students nationwide through our national program, iMentor Interactive. Mentoring relationships are changing the trajectory of mentees’ lives by helping them graduate high school and enroll in college.
iMentor’s impact is best explained by the students we serve. Kandace, a mentee from the Bronx, says; “My mentor gives me support in school and lets me know I can succeed. With her support, nothing can get me down. She lifts me up when I’m down and keeps me motivated.”
