I will have the distinct honor, and privilege, of being one of fifty running the 26.2 miles on April 21st as part of the One Fund Team. For those who are unfamiliar, One Fund Boston is the official charity created to channel the outpouring of support to the victims and families most affected. This year's marathon will be an emotional event, and One Fund Team will have the unique honor of representing the cause that will be foremost in everyone's hearts and minds on race day.
As I watched the events unfold on April 15, 2013, my heart broke for those injured and for the city that I have come to call home. While feelings of grief and pain will forever mark that day, I was inspired as I watched Bostonians come together to heal and provide support for those dealing with devastating physical and emotional wounds.
Though I've never run a marathon, or even a half, I can't think of a more deserving cause to devote my time and energy - on both the fundraising and running trails. I was delighted to learn I'd been selected as a member of the One Fund Team, and I'm excited to get to work and begin building toward my fundraising goal. The coming months will bring aches, blisters, and long morning runs when I'd rather be in bed; but these are tiny sacrifices I will happily make to benefit those whose lives were forever changed by this tragedy.
Please consider making a donation, and join me in supporting the One Fund's mission. The easiest way to donate is by clicking on the “Donate to this Fundraiser” tab at the right of this page. If you prefer to donate by check, please make it payable to “One Fund” and write my name on the memo line, then mail to Marathon Sports, ATTN One Fund Team, 838 Moody Street, Waltham, MA 02453.
Thank you in advance for helping me be Boston Strong!

One Fund Boston was formed to assist victims and families affected by the tragic events at the Boston Marathon on April 15, 2013 and in the days that followed. In the weeks after the Boston Marathon, through the incredible generosity of thousands of individuals, foundations and corporations, One Fund Boston has raised more than $60M for the victims and the families. In Late June, over $60M were distributed to more than 230 individuals who were injured.
The One Fund's mission to support those most impacted by the attacks is continuing as part of a collaborative effort to coordinate services to help the survivors and victims' families.
The recovery is just starting for many and it will be a long road. Their resilience has inspired our city and nation, and we ask that you continue to support and stand united with them. To date, One Fund Boston has raised $70.5M million. The One Fund is in the process of conducting a formal assessment to determine the long term needs of the victims, families and community and will announce its future plans once this assessment has been completed. One Fund Boston will work to establish this longer term operating model through communications with survivors and families in a manner that will provide for a productive transition from a victim relief fund to a service and support network. We will continue to provide updates on our website on the amount raised to support those most impacted by the 2013 Marathon attacks.
