Get PCain Some New Wheels
Organized by: Austin Stuhmer
Patrick Cain (affectionately known to his students as PCain) and his brother, Kevin, were both born with Muscular Dystrophy, a degenerative muscle disease.
Patrick was a teacher for over 20 years, the last 14 at Auburn High School teaching high school math. His love for his students and his students love for him helped him overcome obstacles that would seem impossible. His students helped him accomplish many things, in and out of the classroom. Unfortunately, Patrick was laid off due to budget cuts last year. He now only has a small income. His brother, Kevin, passed away several years ago, so Patrick has no immediate family members to turn to for help.
PCain needs a new wheelchair. Insurance will pay a lot, but he will have to come up with $5000 of his own money for the co-pay. I would like to invite you to help him. We are looking at other fundraisers, such as a Fun Run, in the near future, but right now we are just asking for a donation. You can donate straight from this page. It is safe and he will use the money for his other health expenses if there's any left over from the chair.
If you, or your child, or your parent (get it - he's old) ever had him as a teacher or saw him as a speaker, please help get PCain at new chair so he can be comfortable! Everyone else is welcome to donate as well, of course.
