Polycystic Kidney Disease is a genetic disease that runs in my family. It has affected many people in my family including my late grandfather, late great aunt, my uncle, my father, and me. This year, my dad and my uncle both received successful transplant surgeries in response to kidney failure caused by PKD. My mother, Cathy and my cousin's wife, Amanda selflessly donated their kidneys to help them fight this disease. This inspired me to do my part in raising money to fund research for this cause. Currently there is no treatment or cure for PKD. The Polycystic Kidney Disease Foundation funds research to find treatments and a cure, and provides information and support to people affected by PKD. On November 1, 2015, I am running the NYC Marathon for the PKD foundation in support of people who are affected by this disease and in hope of finding a cure. Thank you in advance for both your donations and your support for this cause that is so close to my heart.
