Mozilla Firefox is donating an extra $50,000 to the charity that raises the most money through January 10, 2013--and I want to win that extra money for Operation USA, an organization that I have supported for many years. Please help me get there--and give as generously as you can.
Operation USA is a Los Angeles-based international disaster relief and development agency that helps communities at home and abroad overcome the effects of disasters, disease and endemic poverty. Since 1979, Operation USA has worked in as many as 100 countries—delivering over $400 million in aid for relief and development projects around the world.
They are currently working hard to help in the areas struck by Hurricane Sandy—sending emergency and cleaning supplies to New York and New Jersey, alongside supporting education and health projects in Haiti and Cuba.
Operation USA is a hands-on agency—with a small, dedicated staff overseeing projects and disaster response work. Their motto is "Give and it gets there" – and they mean it. Following the earthquake in Haiti, they flew in 8 planes full of emergency, shelter and medical supplies—and then went on to rebuild a public school that is now home to 900 kids who could not otherwise afford to go to school.
Operation USA remains committed to the communities they work in, often working for years following a disaster. You can learn more about Operation USA’s work around the world by visiting here: http://www.opusa.org
Please donate – or start your own fundraiser to help me fundraise! Let’s win the Mozilla Firefox Challenge for this amazing organization.
Thanks so much,
