BENEFITING: American Red Cross
EVENT DATE: Nov 02, 2014
I chose to support the American Red Cross primarily because of the great work it does here in the United States. In addition to its international committment, here in America, the Red Cross is usually first on the scene to offer disaster relief services -- hurricanes in the north and souteast, tornadoes in the midwest, fires and floods in the west -- it's the Red Cross, always there.
In addition, it supports America’s military families to help them stay connected. Almost 900 times daily, the Red Cross directly connects service members with their families.
The Red Cross provides health and safety courses, such as CPR, first aid, and lifeguard training to help save lives. Similarly the American Red Cross is the largest single supplier of blood and blood products in the United States annually – 6,000 times a day, a person receives a Red Cross blood transfusion.
The multifaceted goals of military assistance, disaster response, and life-saving preventive training in my opinion gives the American Red Cross an incredible reach across the United States and the world. I am honored to be able to lend a hand, so that the Red Cross can help many others.
