We know your heart is set on getting out there to do good while running through Pennsylvania (in two separate vans forever lovingly called as Van 1 and Van 2). Join Team Lazarex and help raise tons of money to help cancer patients while running out there with the greatest group of friends ever to exist.
You race starts in the history-rich city of Lancaster, with its preserved architecture and old city charm. Teams will navigate rural roads and gentle rolling hills during this 200-ish mile overnight relay. As you chase the sun (or try to find your wayward runner), you may start to wonder if you have traveled back in time as you pass horse-drawn buggies and hardworking Amish folk tending their fields and creating homemade treasures. Runners will breathe in the clean, crisp country air as they run along a sea of corn and wheat fields in Pennsylvania’s Dutch country and farm communities (If not running this leg we suggest you roll down the windows and take advantage of the fresh air). Runners will push north to the finish line in the Poconos Mountain resort area where the route weaves back and forth over the Schuylkill River and through the quaint town of Jim Thorpe. At the end you will round up your team of 12 (or 6) (hopefully you haven’t misplaced a runner along the way), and run across Eastern Pennsylvania’s most beautiful countryside all while promising each other to do this again next year … while arguing about what Van you’re calling dibs on!
Here’s how to register for the awesomest weekend of your life:
Team Captain must register the team
$1440 - Reg fee for 12-person team (breaks down to $120 per person)
$960 - Reg fee for 6-person Ultra Team (breaks down to $160 per person)
Fundraising minimums per teams
$10,000 - for the 12 person team (breaks down to $850-ish per person)
$6,000 - for the 6 person team (breaks down to $1000 per person)
Your registration fee counts toward your fundraising minimum
Teams raising $15,000 will receive a reimbursement incentive for the cost of 2-vans not to exceed $500 rental fee per van.

How are the donations you collect put to use?
Each month Lazarex patients get a check reimbursing them for their expenses to get to their cancer treatments.
We help patients find the right medical study anywhere in the United States and we help pay for the costs to get them to their treatments including airfare, hotel, parking (because at some cancer center it’s $30 bucks a day just to park!!) and diagnostics that insurance companies don’t cover. If Lazarex Cancer Foundation wasn’t around to help with these costs it would be impossible for a majority of patients to take advantage of these breakthrough treatments happening at medical research institutions.
Think about this – half of all research to find cures or better treatment for cancer fail. Not because of the science but because the studies don’t have enough patients enrolled. And patients don’t enroll primarily because they can’t afford to get to the treatment center. That is not okay!! We need to make research accessible to ALL patients not just those who have the personal resources to afford it. Life is too damn precious to not help!! Thank you for helping!!!
