Welcome to my fundraising page! I am honored to have the opportunity to run the 2015 Boston Marathon on behalf of the Samaritans Inc., a non-profit organization dedicated to reducing the risk of suicide. Through their 24/7 crisis services, community outreach programs, and grief support services, this organization works to highlight the importance of mental health and increase the awareness of suicide prevention.
In the past 10 years, my group of friends and I have lost too many friends and members of the Needham community to suicide. Our group first became involved with the Samaritans through their Make Noise event, and has continued to take part in events like the Samaritans 5K, to help spread awareness of suicide prevention. My goal is to bring attention to the Samaritans healing work and spread hope to those in and around the community. I have noticed the way, not only my friends have come together, but the way the entire town of Needham has come together during difficult times of loss. The grief support services provided by this organization have touched so many lives and continue to help many families cope with loss. Kevin, Kyle, Jason, and Greg all had a profound impact on the community, and I am proud to be running for them, for Team Needham, and for the Samaritans organization. Thank you for supporting my fundraising efforts – every dollar will go towards the life-saving work of the Samaritans.
Running the Distance for Suicide Prevention!
The 2015 Boston Marathon will be held on Monday, April 20. Thanks to the John Hanock Non-Profit Marathon Program, this is the eighth consecutive year that Samaritans has received bib numbers for our Marathon Team.
Each day - because of donors like you - Samaritans is able to provide a moment of light and hope to people who are struggling, isolated, or feeling overwhelmed. For more information about Samaritans life-saving programs, please visit us at www.samaritanshope.org.
No matter how you decide to contribute, please know that your support will help ensure that our services educating the public, helping to help after a loss to suicide, or providing lifesaving services for those feeling suicidal, remain free of charge to the members of our community. Thank you so much!
