My love affair for Morgan’s began in 1954, when my dad bought and raced a 1954 Morgan 4+4. At 10 years old, I became his pit crew. When I was 13, we bought a 1950 Morgan+4 Roadster, which became my first car after three years of rebuilding and ordering parts directly from the Morgan factory in England. My Morgan was sold when I went to college but my love affair continued. On October 31, 2003, my wife, Emma, and I traveled to Bakersfield, California to buy our 1963 Morgan Roadster. Over the following 6 years we rebuilt the car with: a street performance TR4 engine; 5 speed transmission; replaced ash frame coachworks; and sheet metal body skins. The rebuild was finished with a complete frame-off paint finish of a Ferrari yellow body and dark green, yellow metal feck wings. Emma and I enjoy touring and showing off our Morgan. The 3 day 600 mile tour in the Morgan through the Colorado Mountain at high color with other British car enthusiasts in fun and raises funds for Roundup River Ranch which is a Colorado mountain camp for children with chronic and life threatening illnesses. Last year, the kids at Rounup River Ranch had so much fun taking turns sitting behind the righthand steering wheel and pushing the dashboard button to blow its blaring horn. It was so rewarding to see the smiles on kids and parents faces. Help Emma and me support the kids experience at the ranch by making a donating to our Shindig Rover team.
