Last year I turned 40 and decided to do an Ironman to celebrate. I woke up every morning with a pit at the bottom of my stomach wondering how I was every going to finish the race. Fortunately I was never worried about the swim. The swim was the easiest part for me. I realize how lucky I am to say that. Thanks to my parents, I learned to swim at a very early age. I swam competitively till college. My kids are now following in my footsteps. I had a really great experience at Ironman Lake Placid. It sounds crazy to say how much fun it was. I knew that I wanted to do another Ironman so I figured NY Ironman would be good to try. My family is being very patient and supportive with my training schedule. My 3 kids think it is a great idea because it gives them something cool to write about in school. They also liked the family t-shirts.
I am now training with a purpose....to raise money for Swim Free so others can feel as comfortable in the water as I do.
I appreciate any support you can offer me. Thank you
