EVENT: Marine Corps Marathon 2014
EVENT DATE: Oct 26, 2014
Well, here I go again.
As some may know, last year I ran the Marine Corps Marathon, 26.2 miles, to raise awareness on the need for people to join the national bone marrow donor registry. I like to show my support to patients in need of a life saving marrow or stem cell transplant by helping raise awareness and funds to support the cause and Racing To Register;s overall mission. RTR was started by my husband Tom,who was inspired by the fact that I have a blood cancer, whereby I may require a marrow trasnaplant. This year I am dragging Tom along for the 26.2 mile adventure. We have been training hard (he complains alot out there) and I know we will finish strong!
Though I did raise money last year, I hope you will consider helping me this year. ANY amount is welcome. Consider this: our average donation is only $48.00.If you didn't donate, please consider it; if you did...I hope you will consider it again.
So far RTR has registered over 4,000 people! RTR has found 20 patient matches as well, and had 3 transplants. Your donations will help us continue the mission and find more suitable donors for those that need marrow or stem cell transplants.
I hope you will consider any donation and help Racing To Register continue to register more people. See you at the starting line!
