BENEFITING: MARIN COMMUNITY FOUNDATION
EVENT: Escape For Good
EVENT DATE: May 23, 2014
Greg and I are racing from New Orleans to Detroit for the “Escape for Good” race, an event that our dear friend, Rocco Gardner, created a few years back.
Our team (Make A Stand!) is raising money and awareness for the 501(c)3 charity "The Make a Stand Foundation".
The Make a Stand Foundation - www.makeastand.com - (part of the Marin County Foundation) is a 501(c)3 that ensures "impeccable impact" from our for-profit social impact brand platform. Our mission is to work with the leading organizations, here and abroad, that do the most documented work in permanently eradicating child slavery. Make a Stand started as a promise—in the heart of then 8-year-old Vivienne Harr, who wanted to “make a stand” for all children in danger.
We'll be dressed up as Uncle Sam & Stevie Nicks in our bid to get from New Orleans to Detroit with no cash and nothing more than the gift of our gab!
The winning teams will receive a bonus $20,000 and $5,000 respectively for their charities, kindly donated by The Seminole Tribe of Florida.
If you'd like to support us please visit www.crowdrise.com/Peagz or www.crowdrise.com/gregdelaune !!!! Even a little will go a long way! You can also help us with transportation, food and hydration. Just contact us and we will update you on our progress and needs.
Please follow us via our usual social media channels (@Gggumbo @Peagz) and via @escape.
Oh and lastly, for those who would like a laugh, here we are on this morning’s CBS-WWL Eyewitness News program, live with Sally-Ann Roberts! Admittedly we’d only had a few hours kip having enjoyed NOLA’s nightlife to the fullest, but I think we got the message across!
Peace, love & freedom,
Greg (#unclesam) & Jordan (#stevienicks)
And lastly, We are honored to be apart of #escape2014 (@escape - www.esca.pe )
