The Huntington's Disease Society of America - Orange County (HDSA-OC) is honored once again, to be selected by the Orange County Marathon/Half Marathon as one of the non-profit Charity Partners for the 2013 OC Marathon.
The Huntington’s Disease Society of America (HDSA) is the nation’s largest community based non-profit organization dedicated solely to Huntington's Disease (HD). Our purpose is to improve the lives of people affected by HD and their families, support research and medical efforts to eradicate HD, increase awareness and educate the public about HD. HDSA-OC works with researchers like Leslie Thompson, Joan Steffan and Larry Marsh at UCI, clinicians like Dr. Neal Hermanowicz at the UCI HD Clinic, social workers like Karin Little of the Orange Caregiver Resource Center and care facilities throughout Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino and surrounding counties. We work with support groups, neurologists, family physicians and law enforcement to educate and provide assistance. Efforts are also under way to bring a Huntington’s Disease Care Home Community to Orange County and assist the National Youth Alliance (NYA) with a local presence.
Please help us in our efforts to provide services for those who suffer from HD. To learn more about Huntington's Disease and our Orange County Chapter, please click HERE.
