BENEFITING: Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai
ORGANIZER: Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai
EVENT DATE: Nov 02, 2014
Running the marathon has become routine for some of us. Unfortunately, access to top notch medical care has become anything but routine, especially for kids with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Too many factors have eroded the ability for many, many children and adolescents with IBD to get the medical therapies they deserve.
The staff at the Children’s IBD Center at Mount Sinai have dedicated themselves to setting the standard for what excellent care for IBD should be and to counteracting the negative trends occurring in healthcare. Through innovative programming, we have been able to provide care for all children who come to us with these diseases. We have focused the work of our Center on the crucial areas that affect children with IBD including nutrition, emotional health, and preventive health. To improve on physician knowledge, we have been involved in meaningful, patient-directed clinical research, most of which is outlined in detail on our website www.ibdkids.org.
This is our ninth year of fielding a team in the TCS New York City Marathon, and we need your support to continue our work that benefits not just the families we care for but all families who have experienced the frustration of IBD. Our work directly benefits hundreds and hundreds of families with IBD. Please support us generously so that we can continue and expand on our work.
