Team Nature is taking on the 13th Annual Safaricom Marathon and Half Marathon on June 30, 2012. The Safaricom Marathon which takes place on the Lewa Conservancy in Kenya is regarded as one of the toughest marathons in the world. Why? Because runners are running amidst wildlife that roam the preserve…like cheetahs, lions, elephants to name a few. The Conservancy’s President, Mark Tercek, and our Lead Scientist, Sanjayan, will lead Team Nature and compete this year to help the Conservancy support its work in Africa. And even better -- Scott Jurek of Born to Run fame and btw the world's best ultramarathoner will run with our team!
By joining Team Nature you’ll be helping us protect critical habitat for elephants, lions, cheetah and many other iconic animals. You’ll also be helping people in northern Kenya by directly supporting schools, clinics and microenterprises—community projects important to The Nature Conservancy, Tusk Trust and its partners.
