I will be running my first ever marathon in NYC on November 4 and am raising funds for The Nature Conservancy. The Stern family has been supporting The Nature Conservancy for many years, even before since son Jacob held a garage sale to benefit TNC as his Bar Mitzvah project in 2002.
The Nature Conservancy's mission is "to conserve the lands and waters on which all life depends
- Through the dedicated efforts of its diverse staff, including more than 550 scientists, located in all 50 U.S. states and 33 countries.
- With the help of its many partners, from individuals and governments to local nonprofits and corporations.
- By using a non-confrontational, collaborative approach.
That’s how The Nature Conservancy has done more than anyone else to advance conservation around the world since its founding in 1951."
TNC's mission is more important ever as our earth is threatened by global weather change and an ever increasing population and its need for resources.
I am excited about the challenge of running a marathon at my advanced age, and Herb and I are well into our training, in hot, humid Texas!
Please consider supporting me and Team Nature by donating to The Nature Conservancy!
