The Children’s Room is the leading nonprofit grief support center in Massachusetts. At our home in Arlington, Massachusetts, families who are grieving the death of a parent, child, or sibling come together to receive support and understanding. We serve families from the Boston area and over 80 cities and towns across the state.
Children look forward to these bi-weekly groups that allow them the opportunity to share their experiences with peers. One child at TCR said, “The Children’s Room is where you can come with a broken heart and they help you bandage it up a little. It doesn’t heal it completely, but it helps a lot.” Through group discussions and expressive arts and activities, the staff and trained volunteers of The Children's Room create a safe environment for families to share their experiences with one another.
In addition to our peer support groups, parents also benefit from our discussion groups, workshops, and information referrals. Our educational workshops and consultations have allowed us to expand our impact to schools, hospitals, religious organizations, and individuals and professionals throughout Massachusetts.

MARATHON DAY UPDATE
We are grateful to be able to share with you that all eight runners of our Miles & Memories Marathon Team, as well as their family and friends, are safe and accounted for.
We are deeply saddened by the tragic events of the Boston Marathon. Challenging times like these are a horrific reminder of the importance of creating safe, caring communities that allow us to feel supported and connected to one another.
We deeply appreciate the concern and kind thoughts that have come from so many of you. Your support of our Marathon team – both during their long training and after yesterday’s tragedy – means so much to all of us here at The Children’s Room.
