Tents to Nepal is a fast growing grassroot venture aimed at providing immediate relief to the most affected villages (where 90% of the houses have been flattened) by providing tents and other critical supplies. There are over 300,000 families without a roof in Nepal today and survivors are left without food/water in a freezing rain.
Our efforts are supported and coordinated on the ground by the generous hearts of Ramana's Garden (orphanage in Rishikesh - India), ORGANIC INDIA (Tulsi Tea & True Wellness company - India), UPLIFT (collaborative media platform for Oneness In Action – global) and ABARI (Sustainable design and construction firm – Nepal).
In less than one week, we have already shipped our first load of tents to Gorkha (epicenter of the quake), setup a tent production facility in Kanpur (Northern India) and are working hard on sending another truck full of tents and supplies.
Also, our ABARI team was the first aid team this week to reach Dwaha, a devastated village in Gorkha. They are already working on building shelters to a number of families with bamboo and canvas tents.
Timing is the essence, as every hour, every day counts. The sooner we can buy canvas, the sooner we will be able to give a roof to a family.
Thank you tons for your limitless generosity. None of this would have been possible without you!
PS: 100% of the funds will be used to buy canvas/supplies and shipping tents to Nepal. Friends of Ramana's Garden is a non profit 501c.
