In a few weeks we will be running in a race that has been on our radar for years but out of reach due to the competitive entry process. The race is called Hood to Coast and is a 200 mile, 12-person overnight relay from Mt. Hood to the coast of Oregon. This is the "Boston Marathon of relay races."
As part of our teams lottery entrance, we are raising money for a local charity - The Providence Cancer Center. Their scientists and renowned immunologists work tirelessly with oncologists, radiation oncologists and surgeons to bring internationally recognized research from the lab directly to patients. The combination of advanced research, patient-focused care and compassionate support services is made possible by ongoing financial support from generous donors.
Many of us have lost family members to cancer so we know the cause is near to many of our hearts. We have set a goal to raise $2,000 between the two of us. Anything you can spare for this cause will be greatly appreciated - by us and Providence! The donation is tax deductible and no amount is too small.
We have run many races in the past 10+ years yet this is the first that we've done on behalf of a charity. You can rest assured we won't make a habit of asking for donations ;)
Thanks for your consideration. Let us know if you have any questions!
