BENEFITING: MIRACLE LEAGUE OF MASSACHUSETTS
EVENT DATE: Jun 17, 2012
All proceeds from this event will go towards the construction of an all-inclusive baseball field designed for kids with special needs.
The Miracle League of Massachusetts is a non-profit, all volunteer organization that provides all children with the opportunity to play baseball in an organized non-competitive league at no cost to their family. The players are children aged 5 to 18 with a physical, cognitive, emotional or behavioral disability that keeps them from playing in a mainstream league. Miracle League team members are assigned buddies, primarily mainstream peers who have volunteered to assist them with the game. As a result, the Miracle League builds self-esteem, fosters friendships that bridge the gap between those with special needs and those without and creates a community where the families of players and buddies can relax together while proudly watching their children.
